Otter's advantage is not features — Fireflies has more. Otter's advantage is usability. In our 60-meeting test, speaker attribution was correct in 89% of speaking segments — good enough to be useful without being perfect enough to rely on uncritically.
Where it falls short of Fireflies
Action item accuracy: Otter correctly identifies and attributes action items in 71% of cases versus Fireflies' 84%. For meetings where clear action tracking is the primary value, this gap matters. For general meeting notes and reference, Otter's 71% is sufficient — you'll clean up the 29% in less time than the review you'd do on any manually taken notes.
CRM integration: basic export only. If your workflow requires automatic sync to Salesforce or HubSpot after calls, use Fireflies. Otter's integrations are useful for Slack and email but not designed for CRM workflows.
